ASP10 Opening: Elections of Fatou Bensouda and Ambassador Tiina Intelmann

Dear All,
This is to inform you that today 12 December 2011 Fatou Bensouda was elected as Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court at the tenth session of the Assembly of States Parties in New York to commence her term in June 2012. Also elected this morning was Ambassador Tiina Intelmann as the new President of the Assembly of States Parties along with two Vice-presidents and 17 members of the Bureau.

A more detailed summary of the first day of the Assembly of States Parties will be sent to you by the end of the day.
