||Albania ratified the APIC on 2 August 2006.
|Bilateral Immunity Agreement
||BIA signed May 2, 2003 in Tirana. Ratified June 19, 2003.
||The issues that raised constitutional problems were: the transferability of the judicial power’s competences to international
bodies; immunity from criminal prosecution provided by Albanian Law for several official capacities and the principle ne bis
in idem. Substantive Criminal Law: The criminal code should be amended in 2005. In June 2004, the government declared
that it would modify the definition of the crime of genocide, in conformity with the definition in the Rome Statute. Cooperation:
A law on cooperation with ICC is necessary.
||Albania is a member of Friends of the ICC, Council of Europe, Francophonie, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
