In recent years, the international community has witnessed serious humanitarian crises, prevailing impunity for atrocity crimes and heightened geopolitical challenges that have threatened to undo historic advances in democracy, justice, human rights and the rule of law. Women, youth and minorities continue to bear the greatest burden of these crises around the world. Help us meet our fundraising goal of $5,000 by September 29 to promote women’s rights and achieve gender equality.

International crimes and sexual and gender-based violence in conflict disproportionately affect women and girls at an alarming rate. Historically, many of the grave abuses suffered by women in situations of armed conflict have been marginalized or overlooked, and women often left out of discussions of conflict prevention and peace-building. These women not only deserve to see justice and redress, but also have a critical role to play in preventing international crimes and building lasting peace.

Empower Women Seeking Justice & Peace

Gender equality and the promotion of women’s rights is a cross cutting issue that is central to World Federalist Movement - Institute for Global Policy mission of advancing the global promise of peace and achieving a safer and more just world. We believe that women’s participation is imperative to durable peace, security and sustainable development.

In order to ensure women are at the forefront of discussions of international justice and conflict prevention, WFM-IGP has launched a crowdfunding campaign through the GlobalGiving Foundation’s Accelerator program to increase support for the work that the Coalition for the International Criminal Court and International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect do to advocate for gender justice and support women’s leadership within their networks.

By leveraging the power of these two global coalitions, this project will help open up space for women's activism in conflict and post-conflict environments; amplify the voices of women speaking out on issues of atrocity prevention and international justice; empower them to seek justice for themselves and their communities; and bring the diverse, locally-grounded perspectives of our coalition members to those with power to create real, systemic change in our global systems of justice and governance.

Help us meet our fundraising goal of $5,000 by September 29 and support WFM-IGP’s initiatives to empower women seeking justice and peace by donating to our project on GlobalGiving or sharing this link with your friends and family to raise awareness about the importance of women’s role in international justice, peace and security.
