Together for Justice: Meet Mohammed Hassan
For Mohammed Hassan, Executive Director of The Darfur Network for Human Rights (DNHR), justice symbolises hope — hope that those who have committed crimes against thousands of civilians in Darfur and Sudan, both in the past and in the ongoing conflict, will be held accountable.
Mohammed believes that justice, whether achieved this year or in the years to come, is crucial for the Darfurian community.
For years, people have hoped for justice, and as the conflict resurfaces, the need for justice becomes even more urgent. Mohammed emphasises that justice is vital to secure a future where future generations are protected from crimes against humanity and genocide in Sudan and the Darfur region.

About the Darfur Network for Human Rights (DNHR)
The Darfur Network for Human Rights (DNHR) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) that works to promote and protect human rights and fundamental liberties in Darfur and other areas of Sudan. We do this by monitoring and documenting human rights violations, providing legal assistance to victims, and advocating for change with the Sudanese government and international community.
Among the different ways in which DNHR works to promote and protect human rights in Darfur and Sudan, are:
-
Monitoring and document human rights violations, including killings, arbitrary arrests, torture, and sexual violence.
-
Providing legal assistance to victims of human rights abuses, including helping them to file complaints with the Sudanese government and the International Criminal Court.
-
Advocating for change with the Sudanese government and the international community. Calling on the Sudanese government to investigate and prosecute human rights abuses and urging the international community to provide support to the Sudanese people.
